Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God…  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.  Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 1 John 4:7,10-11 (KJV)

Not only is God not mad, but he so loves you, you are called his “Beloved.”  It is God’s love for you, that while you were separated by sin, God pursued you. Now, Jesus revealed and confused the most accomplished Nicodemus, when he announced you must be born again.  But John explains, “…one that loveth is born of God, and  knoweth  God.”  To be born again is to allow the Spirit of the living God to  abide  within you.  God’s love is shed abroad in our hearts (Romans 5:5). It is not our love that we share, it is the love of God. Just as the tree produces the fruit and the branch bears the fruit, so too we bear the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace… (Galatians 5:22-23). In the midst of pain, civil unrest, and disease we have the promise, nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:38-39).

The love of God, our Father, sent Christ to redeem, pay the price for our missing the mark,  and provide the gift of eternal life (John 3:15).  Love is not a thought or butterflies from a 1st kiss.  Love is Jesus separating Himself  from the Trinity. Jesus being born of the Spirit into hunger & cold, to live perfect and die a curse, just for you. Jesus finished his work not because of his will, but because of God’s will (Matthew 26:39). The Father’s love sent Jesus, our Christ, as the bridge, that connects our born-again spirit to the everlasting love of God. That my friend is LOVE.

Again, love will not leave you in the condition it finds you. Love cares  for aging parents or a confused spouse, helps a neighbor, forgives  those filled with anger, guides rebelling teens, and seeks peace in calamity.  Jesus’ life demonstrated love for mankind through  the intimate knowledge of the redemptive will of Father God.  Likewise, let us, live our life  in the  love that comes from the redemptive knowledge of Father God.
